That footage of Spencer Horsman having to be rescued when he blacked out was truly terrifying. It did not look like they had a clear procedure for getting him out of there in the event something went wrong.
@shaunhumphreys67144 жыл бұрын
hes doing Houdini escape arts the proper way, whereas all the other modern ones ive seen do it without that death risk, they have safety crews standing buy to exit the procedure if something goes wrong. they are the equivalent of a tight rope walker who does it with a safety net below him. correct there is no safety procedure to get him out.if it goes wrong. if he fails to escape in time, then he goes unconscious, drowns, or falls, and he either dies, or they resuscitate him. thats it. hes a daredevil. thats the life of a real escape artist. they are thrill seekers. same as those dare devils that do stuff like ride motorbikes over several lorries and rings of fire. they dont have safety procedures. only safety is they can take him to hospital at the end of the act, or do CPR from paramedics on site.im sure AGT have full medical personnel on site, including paramedics ready to take anyone to hospital and an on site doctor too. but spencer horsman is a tightrope walker many stories up with no safety net, if he fails, , if he falls, he will either suffer catastrophic injury or die. so hes the real deal. so no wonder he was terrified to come back and do escape magic arts. i remember watching one of the best tightrope walkers in the world come to my little seaside town, and he did a tightrope walk between two really high buildings, idk, like towerblock height, twenty stories high or something. i was ten years old. and it was a long way to tightrope walk between the two tower block height buildings, and he further complicated the tight rope walk by hopping, balancing dinner plates and win glasse.if you tight rope walk with a safety net, you are not a tight rope walker. this art really comes from the traditional circus arts. and real circus arts also must never be with safety nets-e.g. the trapeze arts. making it between two tower blocks is taking it to its most extreme level. spencer horsman is taking houdini escape arts and doing them with no safety net. im glad AGT is allowing it. i dont think they allow that on britains got talent as we have way more health and safety rules over freedom of expression.
@joshdavis41684 жыл бұрын
shaun humphreys the thing is, they can still get him out. Sure he can drown 100%, but if you blackout underwater and you do not breath in water (if you train for it, once you blackout you won’t intake water into the lungs) you’ll be fine. It’s like getting knocked out. There was danger sure, but I’m sure they had some kind of escape plan IF he blacked out. Even then, I’m sure he already escaped way before the actual escape. But you’re right, he’s still a phenomenal escapist
@shaunhumphreys67144 жыл бұрын
@@joshdavis4168 good point. That is actually why I have more faith in the 'danger arts' rather than escape arts. e.g. johnathan goodwin-the daredevil/escapist on this seasons AGT, in his second audition that got him onto the liveshows stage -he played chicken with four crossbows kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5yaZYZ_j9KWkKM that was superb. but in quarterfinals he reverted to the old school escape artist act, with what must have been a totally flame proof costume, as he was covered in flames top to neck by the end. so yes i feel the latter act has too many possible cheats that remove the threat to life.
