Respect. This guy was at the height of his career and was everywhere when his wife passed. He walked away from money and fame to take care of his kids when they most needed him. A true hero.

He quit at earlier stage of his career, he got to take care of his children when his wife went to heaven, he is already a champion. He is my hero of Police Academy.

He was always in the funniest parts in the comedy movies of the 80’s. Then, he just seems to have disappeared for 30 years, and now… well, I’m glad he’s back! Hope we can see more of him and his amazing “voice box”!

@@greggv8 hell of a man, there. Obviously, he made enough from what movies he was in up to that point to where he could take that kind of time off and do what he needed to do, which is good. If anyone in Hollywood deserves that kind of break to where he doesn't have to worry about money on top of everything else that's awful, I'm glad it was him

It surprised me that Michael Winslow entered this competition, as many of us remember his voice work so well from the "Police Academy" movies. I hope the exposure on this show gets him lots of work; he deserves it.

I love the noises he makes, but it could have been a better story wrapped around it. I'm not sure I'd see a whole show of this, but it's seriously great to see Michael Winslow performing again.

He was a LOT better in his old standup specials and definitely had the talent for a whole show on his own. He might be out of practice now but he's DEFINITELY got it in him for it somewhere. Look up his 'rental truck' standup on KZbin.

I've been a fan of his since Police Academy and I was under 15 back then - I do think he needs a writer because the act is really randomly put together but he still has great talent!

Not disrespectful. I'm old enough to remember Police Academy movies & Michael Winslow & Bobcat Goldthwait (Zed, in Police Academy: Citizens On Patrol) blew me away. But tbh the material isn't that funny & you need good funny links to then get the best from the sounds. Michael needs a collaborator/comedy writer to make his act funnier. Simon just wasn't that impressed. He's mellowed a lot from his early days, when he did Pop Idol in the UK ( just before American Idol started) we just loved his honesty. If someone was 💩 he would tell them they were 💩 & stop wasting your time & get a real job!!. Us Brits are a bit more brutally honest especially when compared to Hollywood!. I'm from the Midlands (Aston in Birmingham, where Ozzy Osbourne & Black Sabbath were raised. My Dad was in the school year below Ozzy or 'John' as we was known then. We call our best friends the 'C' word, it's a term of endearment where we're from!. 😂 I remember the first season of American Idol, both Randy & Paula were disgusted by how brutal honest he was. In 2001 tv talent shows were always nice, kind, constructive & a nauseatingly patronising!!. Randy looked like he was prepared to get physical!! But it didn't take you Americans long to realise that Simon was almost always right, that girl/boy is tone deaf. I think it's bad parenting to tell your child that they're fantastic at something when the rest of the world has ears & can hear that they're garbage!!. Don't BS them, find something they can do well. That kid could be your pension one day!! 😉
