THIS is why something about it feels fake. If someone was reading your mind accurately I believe automatically you would show some kind of reaction and Heidi Klum was way too calm.

Wow, The member of the crew played major role in this act. He had two bin bags in the basket. One with 100s of same ocean memory. One with audience members memories. Crew member switched the bag twice.

1) Saw the power level - communicated already by camera reading and ear piece. 2) They switched the bags before putting all the mixed memories. The other earlier bag all had the same memory.

I was thinking it was how he held the phone. Had five fingers spread on one with just one finger touching the pop socket probably translated to 50-1 or something. And the container had two interior bags with only one accessible at a time.

The mentalist act is wonderful and marina has such a fruity sweety voice; sofia adds spice to the show especially with her funny character; Heidi is beautiful, calm and adds grace to the show… power girls!

i think there are 2 levels of the bucket. like the first level contain all the same context and the second level was mixed. So all of the envelope from the first level was setup by magicians. and the second level are from the audiences. So Heidi picked the envelope from the first level and Simon received audiences envelopes and all of them are different which is in the second level of the bucket. this is not mind reading but it is trick

In the past, a similar act would have been channeled through the partner, leaving lots of doors open, but this time Heidi was the channel! This is a whole different level of mentalist performance. Amazing!

The bag was rigged, the “crew member” used the bag with the trap door which is where all the actual audience memories went and when Heidi pulled the envelopes out they were all the same memory on the inside that was pre-rigged prior , then the mentalist had the “crew-member” bring the bag back minutes later and dump the actual audience memories on the desk for Simon to see.

@@randybonnette6495 Exactly and the first trick, the phone battery level one, was easily explainable too. Firstly; Her husband has as small camera up his jacket sleeve. Then; When he holds the phone, he makes sure to hold it, so the battery level, which is in the top right corner, is clearly visible on outside of his hand, ensuring the camera can see that area. Then; The Wife likely has a tiny in ear microphone, which allows her to get instructions, from a third person, who can remotely relay the information to her.

3:08 there is the trick, look at the man below, he touches the bag. The trick is as silly as using a bag with a double bottom, one with many of the same papers with what heidi reads, and the other with all the ones that people deposit

I don't know why people deny the possibility of channeling. everyone has "psychic powers". it's just a matter of how connected you are to them (practice is possible). intuitive hits/gut feelings, maybe dream synchronicity, or synchronicity in your normal life are all forms of psychic communication & ability. what they did is wild though because it takes a lot of practice (or simply a lot of deconditioning) to be able to get that in tune again. For people skeptical of psychic ability because they "haven't" experienced it...here's some food for thought (first of all you're always being guided): how do you expect to realize your gifts when you can't even trust yourself to begin with?. But hey! they could be acting. anyway, if you read this I hope you know you're lovely just the way you are :p

I have a theory.. it might be possible.. that phone thing didn't know how they did it.. but the memory thing .. is ... The person who is collecting is the key, he is colleting the slips then when he is coming to the judge he switched the whole slips completely with other other slips just by doing covering with black cover in between them.. it is completely possible.. then when he came to simon , He poured the real slips. then they completely different obviously ...

you can see the trick clearly at 3.07: the lan with the basket clearly fumbles with the plastic bag (or pulsl a swotch), so actually, there are two bags in the basket: one with all the same memories, and another one with the memories as written by the audience. this explains why the duo did not do what all magicians would do: they woudl ask, and who wrote this memory down?.... they couldn't ask this question . I studied magic with my dad a long time ago, but my hands are not fast enough so i quit! but i still know the basics of ANY illusional act: always look at the other hand. ALWAYS! In thsi cae; don't look at the performers, or Heidi but at the man with the basket, he is 'the other hand'. Case closed

This is one of those tricks that is unfortunately too impossible which makes it very obvious how it's done. The bag of cards that she reached into is a planted bag containing all the same cards so they knew already what she will read. Then the stooge changes bags and dumps the real cards all over the table.

For the battery %, they could see and hear each other so they worked out a system to communicate two numbers. The guy saw the numbers.

Exactly.... after Heidi takes a memory from the bag, the "staff" walks off camera and away. He returns when asked to put some of the memories on the table in front of the judges. Where did he go when he walked off camera? 2 bags, collapsible to be easily slipped under his jacket or something like that.

I think when everyone was distracted looking at the screen when it went black, the crew member slid across a division in the bag which held all of the same memories, then slid it back again to tip on the judges table!

There are 2 pockets in that bin. The one collected from the audience and the one pre-determined to be selected. The switch can easily be done by the one who collected the notes on the same bin itself. You're all welcome.

The battery act is an easy trick. They must have agreed on a secret code based on the hand used to hold the phone (for example: left hand 0-50% / right hand 51-100%), and the number of fingers used to hold it (left hand with 4 fingers: 40%). He also taps the phone once with his left thumb (1.22”), this can mean “minus 1”, if the tap occurred on the right side it could mean “5 minus 1” (4), but it occurred on the left side (10 minus 1 = 9). Thus 40%+9%=49%. Mental connections don’t exist, it’s always a matter of hidden signals. As regards the memories act, it’s pretty clear that there were two different bags in the collecting bins, and one bag contained the ocean memory only. The bags have been switched before giving the card to Heidi.

Agreed! Simply asking the audience member who wrote it to stand up would have definitely made this much more believable!

Hehe, no-one in the audience wrote it. Heidi was forced to choose between envelopes with the same text. Not the ones audience wrote. The phone battery trick was much more interesting. That can't be checked ahead. Someone had to see it and give the info to the woman at that moment.

@@Ansachu I'm fully aware of that, lol. I was just saying if they had an audience member stand up taking credit for the message, it would make the trick much more believable and add an extra WOW factor. Although there are many different ways to force the prepared messages, I think in this case, they used a bucket that appears to have 2 bags in it. One filled with the prepared message and one with the audience messages. The "crew member" simply opens the prepped bag for Heidi and then switches back to the audience bag when dumping them on the desk (I believe you can see him start to flip the bags at 3:08 As for the phone battery life, not only could he have seen it when she handed him her phone (which was facing his direction), but he also had a fair bit of time to look at it once he had the phone. At that point, he probably had some kind of secret way to indicate the battery life to his partner, maybe through blinking his eyes or finger tapping or some other similar tactic. There's also been previous rumours released that sometimes a judge or Terry or even AGT staff are in on the trick.

@@nnamerz I was thinking a device maybe? For instance in his shoe. He taps with his toe and the receiving device vibrates in her pocket. Sometimes the judge must be in. For instance in the magicisn X act, where Howie Mandell thinks of Shin Lim and then he really shows up. No way.

i recall an act of a magician that had a similar magic with envelopes from the audience, he made a chopper "appear" on the stage just like the envelope said, Simon asked to the audience who wrote that, no one replied. Felt like it could have gone in the same way

Maybe an audience member didn't write the memory. I'm pretty certain of it but I have no idea how they did it. It was an amazing act.

@@PSCA1988 I was thinking that it must have been a forced envelope that Heidi got since they never asked who’s memory it was. The bag could have 2 compartments with 1 having a bunch of envelopes with the same memory. The other compartment was dumped onto the judges’ table with the real ones.

@@shuki1 Planting at this level type show is foolish and insulting. Same as Lior. What would be the point of it? When you have acrobats and dancers etc, why would they allow someone who just plants an answer?

@@shuki1 I will have to check that out. There is no reason to have someone planted in the audience to put an envelope in the bin as they can just have it already seeded at the start of the act. They still would need to get their envelope chosen from all the others. A plant is usually used when you need a volunteer from the audience to be a part of the act. The only reason they would use a plant would be to have the person stand up and say it was their memory.

Sad but true, the longer this show goes the more obviously rigged. even Simon's stopping someone to play another song is total BS< they know these people, what they'll sing, what their other song is...they're all too perfect on the second song, its not a gift, its staged.

The person collecting the cards was in on it, it was a magic trash can where the envelopes were switched via a mechanism, and then reswitched etc.

Either that or some kind of trick bag, like theres a bag under the bag. And when they showed the phone screen it looked pretty suspiciously generic. I dunno if she was in on it or if there was some slight of hand, but it was pretty smooth either way.

If this is not staged, then the trick has to be in the bag (double compartment), the assistant let Heidi picked out of from the compartment with all the same preset memory and when the dumping took place, that's from the compartment with all the actual audience memories. I'm more impressed with the phone battery (unless it's staged). No one saw the battery life until the reveal.

yeah the double compartment thing would definitely explain their trick. it would be so awkward if the judges asked who in the crowd wrote the memory, because no one would stand, since the memory was pre-written by the performers.

There are often many solutions on how to get an effect like this without it having to be staged. Performances like this are almost never staged in the sence that the judges have to be in on it or things like that. In this case the obvious solution is pretty simple but the people creating tricks are usually really really creative and sometimes the solutions are easy but sometimes they are pretty advanced and very smart and something that people not knowing the business would have a really hard time figuring out.

There were two bags. One with only one memory and the second with audience's memories. The real "magician" was the crew member who switched the bags. Easy..

Had to be a trick basket. Collected, then when handed to Heidi a false compartment opens that she was shown then concealed when dumped out. The "staff" had to be an accomplice. It was very well delivered, but its very easy to lie on this show.

It was the black plastic bag, two compartments. Why not use a normal empty box? Battery sensor on the rings.

@@jamielamon8167 if you look at 1:20, the guy taps the phone once with his thumb (w/ his hand holding phone) which was not necessary. They probably have established sign language since he saw the percentage when Sofia handed the phone over... then held it in a particular way to tell her what it was.
