Shin didn't care about the competition whether he was gonna win or not but he had a big heart in helping a fellow magician and for that he has earned my respect

Shin Lim is super humble and so laid back. I appreciate his personality and how he doesn't use his accidents as sob stories to get sympathy from anyone. It is pure skill and showmanship. Marc Pearlman is a great magician also. I really he would win some shows he's on because he is also a talented magician of different style.

This is what I love about magic, pure entertainment. The moment Shin Lim is revealed, just sent joy through the audience and to the viewer. This is what TV entertainment is all about and AGT does it so well. Never mind how it's done, the magic was wonderful. I could see the switch when Shin Lim took over before his reveal, but it didn't matter. Just golden entertainment.

I love it how Marc Spellman and Shin Lim worked together on this performance. In my experience, this sort of cooperation almost always leads to better tricks and here it obviously did, because the judges and the audience were blown away by it.

Freaking unbelievable!!! These 2 guy's need their very own act. Imagine how amazing they could be if they worked together all the time. I absolutely LOVE insane twists and we usually only see big twists like this in movie's. To see this twist during a competition as huge as this one is... Was absolutely amazing!!! Huge props for them both!!

Funny thing is, they didn't really need the switch. Shin Lim could have stood there from the beginning doing everything. They're roughly the same height and built, he didn't speak, he wore a mask, nobody would have known that's not spellman....

Yes, notice when Howie went to introduce him to the audience (who was already excited to see Shin) Shin Lim tried to remain a low profile, had a quick wave and return the attention to Marc, how thoughtful.

Think about it though: Simon is executive producer of this show, which means he has final say on guest appearances since those appearance fees have to be negotiated and accounted for. The fact that he was genuinely surprised means Shin did not ask for a fee for appearing on the show despite his showing obviously making the episode ratings gold. I think at least part of Simon's surprise is from Shin doing this without asking to be compensated.

For the people that’s talking about how you noticed he switch, that’s because you saw the thumbnail and knew it was happening so you were looking for the secret. However, magic is all about presentation and diversion so if you’re watching for the first time without knowing what would happen, it would be absolutely magical.

I saw the switch first time I saw it. You can clearly see his hand leaving the board and his boots disappear and reappear briefly behind the right wheels of the board. I could tell something was off from that and when his figure magically changed then I knew where this was going. It's not that perplexing of a trick, it's just really showy. But perhaps that's because I like watching magicians to figure out how they do it rather than for the magic of things.

I saw something noticeably odd during the turn but wasn't quite sure why it was odd. Then when they made the reveal, I was like "oh that was obviously when they switched". That was a weak trick. A good magic trick shouldn't have you noticing something that doesn't seem right, even if you aren't exactly sure why. Good magic tricks should be seamless, this one wasn't.

It's pretty clear how they did it. If 'X' decides to spin the seethrough panel you see the first 'X' putting his hand on the right side and moving towards the back of the panel to spin the panel. At that exact moment, 'X' number two is already behind the panel. You see the hand of the first 'X' moving of the panel and see a new hand grab the panel slightly above the place where the first 'X' had put his hand. At this moment, the two 'X's' had switched. You can see it clearly at 3:59 . Prove me wrong

I was always eager to see what his next act was but he got criticized pretty bad by one of the judges. Nicholas Wallace was great also, but the act that got him cut last season was a little boring.

To play into the X character, to incorporate the magician who last won AGT, to have re-done the reveal with an incredible twist. This trick is incredible for the mere fact that someone was insanely genius enough to string such a narrative together playing off of so much history, making that final reveal both shocking yet the perfect conclusion. I don't care that we all have seen the FactoFusion vid. This trick is incredible.

The moment he went behind the board. He was no longer the person who comes out, it was already Shin Lim. It can be easily noticed with his body size. But the act of guessing all the judge's cards was impressive

Yes you can tell the difference in them as soon as mark walked behind the board and shin came out the other side. There are differences for sure and it’s quite obvious

OMG!! That is just insane!! I've been a fan of Marc from the 1st time I saw him on BGT and I've discovered Shin Lim later and he impressed me too but the 2 of them working together was just mind blowing! That was the winning act to me! I have so much respect for Shin Lim the way he acted. He made sure that Marc got all the attention and walked away. The 2 of them are genuises but the 2 of them together, a major Powerhouse! It was amazing seeing them working together on one act, Imagine a whole entire show, I mean that would be more than insane and perfect... I just can't find the right words but I would be in the 1st row every night!!! I've never been a fan of magic but these 2 made me change my mind about it! I keep watching this act over over again, I just can't stop! Very well done! Marc Spelmann and Shin Lim, my very own magic Gods!!

@@desertbreeze69 I am no expert, but I reckon it's a fairly easy bit of subliminal messaging. Just have someone talk to Howie a short while before the show and steer the direction towards Shin Lim. It plants a seed that can be exploited later on.
