The granddaughters voice was so angelic, so i can see why she made it through. The grandmother was good too and im glad that the grandmother can be a part of it by writing the songs. I wish her grandmother could sing some of the notes or verses though on back up while the grandaughter sings.

Actually Mel is the only one with empathy and kindness. The granddaughter clearly hijacked the audition and Mel was the only one brave enough to say that ethics are more important than business. This whole thing felt staged to me. When Simon stopped her grandma and asked Lilliana to sing, neither of them protested or questioned it. Lilliana took that mic almost without hesitation and began to sing. That's how it felt to me.

While I think this was heavily scripted which you know gets on my nerves there is no denying they have a fabulous relationship. I absolutely love Lilliana's vocals and the way she performed the song with the band was so beautiful but I do have to give credit to Gina to while vocally not being great she is a brilliant songwriter and I feel that's more of her wheelhouse

That is what the producers told her to be. In general, the show was beginning to suck because we'd get too much consensus and not enough criticism. This act was beautiful, whether setup or not, but not extraordinary. Mel is being the Simon of the past which boosted ratings.

Not scripted. Gina is 82 and raised Lilliana since she was an infant. For whatever reason Lilliana has no management and they are totally devoted to each other. I come and help Gina in her house. It's just as it appears. No script in fact they had no idea it would happen this way.

The level of cruelty was beyond. The granddaughter has no insight signing her grandmother up when secretly she should have signed herself up. Simon is clueless. At least let the gmother finish and invite the gdaughter back later another time. This was so humiliating for the grandmother but of course she is happy for her grandchild. Imagine being 82 raising your child’s child and being humiliated like this on an international stage. Very cruel. Simon is a sociopath and only cares about the cash 💰
