Cats are by far one of the hardest pets to train, so seeing this is freaking amazing Edit: thank you so much for all the love! Second: to all the people talking about abusing the animals and stuff, I never in any form mentioned that they need to hurt animals to train them, cats do what they want when they want. So seeing these cats do all these tricks on command is mind blowing

not only are cats very difficult to train, but cats can get super anxious in large crowds or surrounded by loud noises, so that the cats could not only learn the tricks but also still do them and stay focused with a shouting audience is very impressive, since even some people - myself included - have difficulties with that

They are not difficult to train. I dont know where people get this idea. I have a 5 month old kitten, who is a tuxedo, domestic short haired cat. No reason to believe he's any smarter than the average cat. He knows about 8 tricks and I've only had him for 3 months. What I can't train him to do is not go on the coffee table, or stop biting my toes in my sleep. I'm told he'll stop biting so much when he gets older, but idk what to do about the coffee table. I tell him every single day lol. To teach your cat tricks they need to be: 1) Food motivated (99% are) or you need to find their motivation (attention, play time, etc) - I once trained my a chihuahua to do tricks that wanted the attention of other family members and I would not let her go see them until she had done the trick. 2) An adequate reward. Most will go for normal treats but if that's not working cook up some unseasoned chicken or fish for your cat and you'll get them really interested. 3) Discipline: you can't give your cat treats for nothing or they won't work for them. If they only get treats for doing tricks then they'll certainly learn how to sit, lay down,etc. 4) Consistency. Getting a clicker helps but isn't required. Having a younger cat is of course much easier but old cats can certainly learn tricks too. Just be patient and give them treats easily at the start of the session and end the sessions before they get full or start ignoring you. Keep them coming back for more.

It's because people expect all animals to behave like dogs (responsive and people friendly) when dogs were specifically bred to be like that, this is also why cats get hate by dog owners who are expecting a pet you don't have put in effort for them to love you, says alot about the person imo

No dude it depends on the breed of cats, the cat personality, how and when you trained them, patients, surrounding environment, experience and the age of cat. I trained my cat over 10 command; jump, sit, stand on high leg, high five, roll over, give a paw, paws down, calm down, catch game, hunting expedition using command, 2 times finger clip (to listen and look at me), applauding the place where I want my cat to go there (e.g chair, my chest, etc), and communicate in cat language (the act of their responses and by their body language I know almost exactly what they wanted).

I absolutely don't doubt it, it just makes me really happy and motivated. I have a 4 month old kitten and she is really good with people, but I just don't know where to start in training her. Do you allow your cat to go outside? I got a harness for mine but even on the smallest setting for each strap its too big for her. But now after what I have read online I think I will just keep her inside.

For any of you who are worried, these cats seem to be treat motivated based on their behavior and willingness to do the trick. If you ever tried to abuse a cat into doing a trick they'd be skiddish, aggressive, and unwilling to perform. It would also be extremely obvious if they were abused. Also how these ladies are picking up the cats are quite normal and a much better way than picking them up by their mid section considering how snake like and flexible their bodies are. They also make sure they have a good grip on the bars before letting the cats go.

@hannahhoward3667
@hannahhoward3667 5 жыл бұрын
Sally Patterson It's normal cat behaviour. If the cats wanted to leave they would have run off the stage. They obviously trust the people who train them. Not to mention, basic cat behaviour. Cats won't learn from negative reinforcements, they'll see it as the person being cruel so they respond much better to positive reinforcement. So it would make more sense to use the treat tactic. I've had to move my cats litter box and every single time I use the treat tactic, once they go pee in their proper place I give them a treat. They start thinking "hey, whenever I go here, I get a treat. Maybe I should keep going here". It works. This makes sense, it's not easy and it takes a whole lot of work, but it's completely believable to teach cats tricks without abusing them. It's probably the only way to do it, because once again, cats don't respond to negative reinforcement.

This act *truly* deserved to go further than it did. In a previous season, some lady who put on the most basic dog show you've ever seen went fairly deep into the competition because she constantly turned on the waterworks about not being good enough (she was absolutely correct there) and just coasted by on the sympathy votes 🙄before she got to the stage where her mediocre show and her tears weren't enough, and the true talent finally knocked her out.

You can train a cat. After learning how to and you really really love cats, you won't do it or prob give up. Training a cat to do extensive tricks requires the trainer to not feed the cat daily. Almost all forms of animal training deals with treats, the more intensive the trick, the more intensive the training. My Source: Film Animal Wranglers.

@@gid519 "to not feel the cat daily" That's called starving your pet both of mine have access to a gravity feeder 24/7(fill the top with food, and it pushes it down when the bowl starts to get empty) Both are 10 pounds, vet said their weight is fine They sit and lay down on command, heel while on leashes because they use to go on walks, high five, and beg. Both cats also help me when I'm having a panic attack by laying on my chest or legs when I have trouble breathing. I've run out of things to teach them but im looking for harder stuff I never starved or abused them to teach them those things. It's called having a bond with them you absolute idiot.

Look, finally. After yeaaaars. People, now you see, not only dogs can do something amazing!! The Problem is that many people think, cats can't do anything. They can, if they want to. When we treat them in a right way, so they can earn our trust, they will do a lot for us. The difference is just, that a dog has fun while performing, a cat not. She's just doing it because she has nothing against it or because she knows what's expected of her.

READ THIS You can tell the trainers don't abuse them. 1. They have nice, clean, healthy looking coats. 2. They pet them after and/or before they perform. Thats how I trained my cat to let me hold her. It calms them do and has them trust you. 3. Cats are different. If you abuse them, they will not let you go near them. They will scratch you and run away. 4.The best way to train a cat is to be compassionate and loving. Also, the cat has to be used to people. They have probably been training these cats sience they were born by having people around to get them used to a crowd.

ANimE MaSTer that's an easy thing to train if your cat likes treats. Start with going to him, saying his name until he looks at you and give him a treat. Wait until he gets bored or distracted, say his name again and give him a treat when he looks at you. Then you can start doing it when he's further away. Ideally you want to motivate him to walk to you so you stop rewarding glances and start rewarding movement.

These kitties are amazing, and so are their trainers! Being a cat owner, I know only too well that kitties do what THEY want to do, WHEN they want to do it! Others have commented that they feel bad for the cats and they don’t look like they’re having “fun”. With these particular kitties, it’s all about TRUST. There is no way these cats could be trained to perform any trick, let alone perform on stage in an unfamiliar environment unless they trusted their trainers EXPLICITLY. Patience, love and trust goes a very long way with any animal one wishes to train, and is imperative for a successful outcome that involves NO abuse or mistreatment..We’ll done, ladies!!
