Cats are by far one of the hardest pets to train, so seeing this is freaking amazing Edit: thank you so much for all the love! 🤯 Thats what blows my mind the most. That fluffy orange long hair at the start of the act looked at the audience with nothing but confidence, as if to say "Oh look. More people. _A G A I N"_ 🥱 For decades Ive seen firsthand how housecats adjust to their human families, & widen out to family friends, the mailman, etc. But this AGT clip shows how much Ive underestimated their capacity to adjust, & adjust exceptionally well to their environment. A giant theatre, blinding lights, loud noises on stage, loud audience. Just like you said! Truly mind blowing 🏆🏆

No dude it depends on the breed of cats, the cat personality, how and when you trained them, patients, surrounding environment, experience and the age of cat. I trained my cat over 10 command; jump, sit, stand on high leg, high five, roll over, give a paw, paws down, calm down, catch game, hunting expedition using command, 2 times finger clip (to listen and look at me), applauding the place where I want my cat to go there (e.g chair, my chest, etc), and communicate in cat language (the act of their responses and by their body language I know almost exactly what they wanted).

If you’ve ever had cats, you know they’re very very difficult / impossible to train. This was very impressive
@JoeFromSomewhere2303 Жыл бұрын
They are not difficult to train. I dont know where people get this idea. I have a 5 month old kitten, who is a tuxedo, domestic short haired cat. No reason to believe he's any smarter than the average cat. He knows about 8 tricks and I've only had him for 3 months. What I can't train him to do is not go on the coffee table, or stop biting my toes in my sleep. I'm told he'll stop biting so much when he gets older, but idk what to do about the coffee table. I tell him every single day lol. To teach your cat tricks they need to be: 1) Food motivated (99% are) or you need to find their motivation (attention, play time, etc) - I once trained my a chihuahua to do tricks that wanted the attention of other family members and I would not let her go see them until she had done the trick. 2) An adequate reward. Most will go for normal treats but if that's not working cook up some unseasoned chicken or fish for your cat and you'll get them really interested. 3) Discipline: you can't give your cat treats for nothing or they won't work for them. If they only get treats for doing tricks then they'll certainly learn how to sit, lay down,etc. 4) Consistency. Getting a clicker helps but isn't required. Having a younger cat is of course much easier but old cats can certainly learn tricks too. Just be patient and give them treats easily at the start of the session and end the sessions before they get full or start ignoring you. Keep them coming back for more.

Wait until he gets bored or distracted, say his name again and give him a treat when he looks at you. Then you can start doing it when he's further away. READ THIS You can tell the trainers don't abuse them. 1. They have nice, clean, healthy looking coats. 2. They pet them after and/or before they perform. Thats how I trained my cat to let me hold her. It calms them do and has them trust you. 3. Cats are different. If you abuse them, they will not let you go near them. They will scratch you and run away. 4.The best way to train a cat is to be compassionate and loving. Also, the cat has to be used to people. They have probably been training these cats sience they were born by having people around to get them used to a crowd.

For any of you who are worried, these cats seem to be treat motivated based on their behavior and willingness to do the trick. If you ever tried to abuse a cat into doing a trick they'd be skiddish, aggressive, and unwilling to perform. It would also be extremely obvious if they were abused. Also how these ladies are picking up the cats are quite normal and a much better way than picking them up by their mid section considering how snake like and flexible their bodies are. They also make sure they have a good grip on the bars before letting the cats go.
@medusa91126 жыл бұрын
no cat will do a "trick" unless it is forced to. Something is not right here.
@hannahhoward36676 жыл бұрын
Sally Patterson If the cats weren't being treated well we would be able to tell instantly. These cats were obviously trained with treats. If these cats were mistreated they wouldn't be doing these tricks, they would run and hide.
@medusa91126 жыл бұрын
I disagree, sorry
@hannahhoward36676 жыл бұрын
Sally Patterson It's normal cat behaviour. If the cats wanted to leave they would have run off the stage. They obviously trust the people who train them. Not to mention, basic cat behaviour. Cats won't learn from negative reinforcements, they'll see it as the person being cruel so they respond much better to positive reinforcement. So it would make more sense to use the treat tactic. I've had to move my cats litter box and every single time I use the treat tactic, once they go pee in their proper place I give them a treat. They start thinking "hey, whenever I go here, I get a treat. Maybe I should keep going here". It works. This makes sense, it's not easy and it takes a whole lot of work, but it's completely believable to teach cats tricks without abusing them. It's probably the only way to do it, because once again, cats don't respond to negative reinforcement.
@ChrisThon6 жыл бұрын

Look, finally. After yeaaaars. People, now you see, not only dogs can do something amazing!! The Problem is that many people think, cats can't do anything. They can, if they want to. When we treat them in a right way, so they can earn our trust, they will do a lot for us. The difference is just, that a dog has fun while performing, a cat not. She's just doing it because she has nothing against it or because she knows what's expected of her.

These kitties are amazing, and so are their trainers! Being a cat owner, I know only too well that kitties do what THEY want to do, WHEN they want to do it! Others have commented that they feel bad for the cats and they don’t look like they’re having “fun”. With these particular kitties, it’s all about TRUST. There is no way these cats could be trained to perform any trick, let alone perform on stage in an unfamiliar environment unless they trusted their trainers EXPLICITLY. Patience, love and trust goes a very long way with any animal one wishes to train, and is imperative for a successful outcome that involves NO abuse or mistreatment..We’ll done, ladies!!

This act *truly* deserved to go further than it did. In a previous season, some lady who put on the most basic dog show you've ever seen went fairly deep into the competition because she constantly turned on the waterworks about not being good enough (she was absolutely correct there) and just coasted by on the sympathy votes 🙄before she got to the stage where her mediocre show and her tears weren't enough, and the true talent finally knocked her out.

My cat was never able to do any of that stuff, but she was able to do a couple of things my doggo doesn’t do. She came when called, she would bring me stuff, and whenever my feet where cold, all I had to do was snap, and she would lay on them. Of course this little amount of training cost a ton of attention, and I never complained when she wanted it. I can never imagine the bond those girls had with their cats in order to able to command them to do such tricks. I hope people understand that when owning a pet, it is key to love them and cherish the time they have with them. A lot of people who says their cat hates them, are usually the ones who hate their cat. Thanks if you’re still reading this bible long comment. -A girl with cold feet

AllyCatPaws Stray to all people who say their cat hates them: maybe you aren't ready to wait for a cat's trust yet, I'd suggest getting a kitten who would grow up with you and teach you to understand cats
@arx7546 жыл бұрын
Belle: I think such people should adopt an adult cat, instead. If someone goes to an adoption site, they can learn from the foster "moms" there which cats are particularly mellow and loving. With a kitten, you cannot tell what their personality will be like when they become an adult. (And, yes, you can be just as loving to eachof two kittens who are even siblings, yet each---as adults--will still have different personalities). I've worked in cat rescue for 15 years now and I've become VERY familiar with cat behavior. Will add that people who say they don't like cats---even if they've had cats---usually have not been the main person responsible for the cat's "care". YOU have to be the one responsible for feeding, petting, (scooping), in order to develop a relationship with the cat. Merely living in a household with a cat or cats----without being the one who cares for it----does not mean you develop a relationship. It's the hands-on CARING for the cat that results in a bond.
