I'm not a good drummer, but it is oddly not that hard to sing and play drums. Lots of drummers sing, and a few of them are really good singers (Karen Carpenter and Don Henley, for example). Drumming keeps you loose, and that looseness lets you be more vocally expressive. That said, I don't want to take away from what Mia did in this video, which was really cool. She sounded great, looked great, and deserved the response she got.

@chaosh70402 жыл бұрын
I hope you realized by his comment of, "Oh...looping" that he had already heard of looping... Thousands of people do this on you tube (& plenty of other formats) every day... You're right that she is very good at it...but it's not anything original on her part (& plenty of the others are also very good at it).
@storygirl747watts42 жыл бұрын
@@chaosh7040 Fair point, but in today's world, I don't know of many artists who are multi-talented with instruments. Most musicians I've seen perform do one, usually piano, or a little guitar or a drum solo, but not for their whole song. The only artist that I know of right now who is multi-talented with instruments is H.E.R. outside of her I know Prince was multi-talented with instruments. I value this kind of act way more than a simple vocalist/singer because of her ability to utilize other instruments (even for a short time), so well in a live performance.
@chaosh70402 жыл бұрын
@@storygirl747watts4 did you notice the crowd reaction when she said "I'm also a multi instrumentalist" (even before Howie had her explain what a loop pedal was)? It is a known thing...there are thousands of multi instrumentalists doing the same thing already...they are all over the internet... But at her age she is phenomenal with the amount of experience she has already & her ability to do exact duplicates of at least just about any drum part...& most of the others use a synth sampler for a lot of their parts...but there are quite a few others like her...some pretty good ones in fact (I'd be willing to bet she has probably collaborated with a few of them). As far as professional musicians go there are many that are multi instrumentalist... Most popular would have to be Tom Shultz from Boston...the whole 1st album was just him on every string you hear & the band was hired to play them live (& kept around because they were all phenomenal musicians in their own right). Wired Al's whole band are all multi instrumentalists...you should catch him in concerts time...it amazing. There really is so many it would take a whole other thread to mention just a portion of them.

@msiapita4052 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree. I've seen her do shows in Nashville on stage with signed, popular artists and she steals the show and leaves them speechless. I watched Lindsey Ell give her a standing ovation after she played a song on the same stage. Not sure how AGT works with it all but Mia will be famous regardless, that I'm sure of.
@NJahn-tl3nr2 жыл бұрын
Than why did she came to a talent show, when she's already famous
@msiapita4052 жыл бұрын
@@NJahn-tl3nr That's the thing, people have been talking about her in the Nashville writer & writers round circles for years in town but she was like 14 when I heard about her and as far as I know, she's completely independent and basically just makes a living as a musician all do-it-yourself. I'm not so sure she's worried about the famous part of it. I'm pretty sure that'll happen anyway.

If you listen to a certain local Nashville based Indie Rock station, it has gotten radio airplay, along with some of her other songs. ;) Unfortunately, just not beyond the local scene there. (Full disclosure: I'm not from there, just a fan who's been following her for awhile and have seen some of her vlogs here on YT which showcase that and other facts.)

Finally, a comment that felt exactly what I felt. Even the judges didn't feel it. Aside from the Ed Sheeran part, which I can't relate to at all. DiAnna must be a huge fan. Yes, he releases some seriously good stuff just like the recent one still playing on the radio today, "Shivers". One thing for sure is, Mia definitely gives you vibes of "Avril Lavigne" in her younger years, but with looping abilities. I bet you she's a Sk8er Grl. 🤣🤣🤣

I got what he meant. The audition was amazing but even if she plays some instruments, none of them is played outstanding. I play 6 instruments by myself but I wont be good enough to play them like a pro - only the guitar. For looping you dont have to play instruments really good, you just have to learn short parts whats not that hard. But: the song was amazing. The beatboxing was well done and thw whole package was just pure gold. And - she as a person is wonderful!
