I can't count how many times I have come back to watch this. This was definitely an AMERICA GOT TALENT. There's nothing more AMERICAN than this. So many of us cheering for just a humble old ordinary school janitor. It felt so good, it felt so right!

Oh they are. I have cousins that had him as their janitor growing up! They are both in college now, but they are who told me he was on AGT. They are all very happy and proud of him! Terre Haute has him perform at The Mill and he doesn’t disappoint there either!

I remember watching his audition and thinking this man has to win! I never found out till now who won and I'm so happy that he won. Well deserved! He left an impact on me because I remember his name and profession! ❤ very humble man with an amazing voice especially when he sings journey!❤

I remember Simon Cowell saying that Richard Goodall is our HERO! And that we all need a Hero right now. I absolutely agree with that sentiment especially considering all the strife & turmoil roiling Americans during this Presidential election. Just a few months ago, Richard Goodall, an average, unassuming man shyly walked onto the AGT stage to audition yet he impressed so many with the first few notes of 'Don't Stop Believing' like few singers could. And he has continued to shine bright thru all his songs! Beyond his musical talent, there is something about Richard Goodall that is very endearing & heartwarming. After last season, I didn’t want to see another dog act win AGT, considering that there were a lot of equally good acts this season. Thankfully, a humble man who did this not only for his dreams, but for those who encouraged & inspired him to go after his dreams, especially those middle school students & his wife, he sought out on this journey, and became a real American hero. Heroes not only save lives, but inspire those that it’s never too late to make a difference, and Richard Goodall is a testament to that

This is what its supposed to be like. You feel sad for the youngsters that lose, but they have their whole lofe on front of them. If you dream big, it doesnt matter what age you are. You can always accomplish your dreams if you fight for them. He won the second ge auditioned. This is truly an inspiration for the middle school kids that look up to him. You have to chase your dreams.

You will have so many people coming to see you in Vegas and my mom said no to paying to see you live at your headline show in Vegas but maybe I’ll come see you as an adult when I have my own money to pay for it and I have enough if your still doing the show in Vegas. I'm so happy. Richard is a good singer. He is not the best singer but to me he represents the average American who hopes for an opportunity to have a better life. Also with his demeanor he inspires people to never give up on their dreams. All the best.

@@Eqium he has no professional singing, self taught or otherwise. Its evident from his way of handling the mic, calculating tempo or getting the pitch right. But he can sing but definitely not the caliber of singer singer. Hes selling hope in the form of singing. And we all know agt is not really talent show, its also storytelling and popularity show

That town he’s from should have a parade in his honor, dismissing school early so all can enjoy his dream. Those kids were a part of the dream. Goes to show an average person can reach the top and dreams come true no matter how old you are, never give up keep reaching for the stars! Terre Haute definitely wont do that. They most likely will do a small concert if anything at the Hulman Center where ISU plays basketball and may have meet n greets at the schools with assemblies. The last time they actually let out school early for anything pop culture related was back in like 99ish when ISU played gonzaga in the NCAA tournament in basketball. They did a half day for that.

@@greeneyes0078 I don’t actually live there but was rooting for him also. I live in Northern Missouri and was saying a parade because we live like 45 minutes from Kansas City and the last 3 Super Bowls that the Kansas City Chiefs won they celebrated with a parade and even our schools where I lived cancelled school each time so the people teachers included that wanted to go to the parade could attend. This last year is the only time there was any problems and unfortunately there was a shooting at the parade that killed at least one person injured others. It had nothing to do with the parade or the football team it was problems between a few people that had to make a joyful occasion into a blood bath. I’m not sure what the population of the town he lives in is but I think they definitely should be proud of him. My heart went out to him after hearing his story and so happy for him and his new wife. So happy he won,he deserved it. 👏🫶🏼

Richard's appeal is about far more than his "voice." He touched and connected with the audience (and the judges) in a unique and powerful way. It isn't about how a singer's skills are technically evaluated, it's about whether they make you feel something. Something special is conveyed from Richard to the audience and then mirrored back to him ini a continuous love cycle. This is the special sauce that distinguishes "pretty good performers" from stars.

Two awesome acts going for the big one and to me it is a tough choice, but I am glad Richard won! Singing with one of the all time great bands! Winning!! What a wedding gift! What an amazing singer!! Congrats!! The dog act was perfect and I am in no doubt that someone will pick them up as an act somewhere. Roni Sagi & Rhythm are an unforgettable act!

Richard is from my hometown right here in Terre Haute, Indiana! What an inspiration! Terre Haute isn’t known for much other than being a dirty small town of about 60,000 in rural Indiana. It’s amazing to see Richard do what he’s done! Paving the way for the youth here showing them that greatness can come out of such a place! Thank you Richard!

This is what the got talent shows should be all about. Nobodies who come from nowhere who don’t do what they’re performing for a living or ever professionally. Good on you Richard. I had a good feeling from the first time I saw you and had a feeling you could go all the way. However Rhythm was a very hard act to beat. I hope the best for them.

Finally AGT got it so right! Such a man working hard as a janitor had this hidden gift & shared it with all of us. So good to see someone really really cared!!!! Thanks AGT!!!! As someone who has sang as a 1st soprano singer for 20 plus years Richard deserves to win his range doing steve perry songs was incredible its not easy ive done several journey songs i know some have said he doesn't deserve it doesn't understand how hard and how high richards vocal range is the dog is cute but i felt more watching Richard congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉
