@jasonluong38623 жыл бұрын
He uses a leviwand in the performance. There are KZbin videos of him showing how it's done. Actually knowing the "secret" makes the performance more impressive. The skill is to use movements to "hide" the attached string. Doing a somersault while spinning this leviwand is just as difficult as it looks. A great dance is when you cannot tell apart the dancer from the dance. This is why great dance performances often involve a partner, whether that partner is another dancer or an inanimate object. It's the counter and synergistic movements of this partner that provide the visuals for the movements of the dancer. The dancer uses this quasi-illusory visuals to lose themselves in the dance as viewed from afar. It's akin to the wind revealing its presence by the movements of the leaves. The dancer provides the wind through the movements, and the wind moves the partner. After a while, the audience forgets that there is a dancer. This is the greatness of a dance performance where the dancer becomes invisible.

I'm honestly shocked that not only did I not remember seeing this audition when it aired, but that it didn't get a Golden Buzzer. No other act on AGT has ever done anything that looks like this. It's not one of those huge-scale magic tricks or anything, but Ehrlich's choreography is so graceful and the overall presentation so seamless that you don't even stop to ask yourself how he makes the props float; you just believe he's doing magic. It's a rare magician who can pull off so many things at once while making all of them flow so naturally from one into the next. AGT should bring him back next season! He already has my votes.

What method did he use to DO this? 😶 I was an elite gymnast, training for the 1988 Olympics. I know SOME moves that can defy gravity (lol, ironically, of all things, we call them "tricks"! 🤣), but what he did, had me looking for some magical "tethers", or some such(!), lol. "Oh, what magic do you weave, as I look for your mystical intent to deceive..." (lol, I just made that up 😄, his act was THAT fantastic! 😜👍) He was ahMAZING!!! 💃💫❗🙌❗💫💃

@@harshreality2672 This is magic’s “Dancing Cane” mentioned above, adopted by Flow Artists and now called “LeviWand.” I hope he gets to come back and use a fire wand in later performances. You think your minds are blown now? Hehehe, wait!

Is this some kind of magic dance combination? First of a kind. How did he even do that.
@1k2022-z3 жыл бұрын
I would assume there's some type of retractable string attached to his arm since he doesn't really hold on to anything if u look closely at the clip, It might also be that he has retractable string on his legs as well which explains why he can dance while its in the air. It also explains why the stick follows him where he goes. but who knows
@MrThing14life3 жыл бұрын
You can LITERALLY see the wire around his neck holding on to the sticks lol. Hence why it's blacked out, the wire is also black. Regardless it was still a good performance :)

He’s using a “Leviwand” which is a balanced stick attached to the performer with a string that comes out of a hole in the middle. It’s an old trick (from mid-1800s) just updated with lights and choreography. It does take skill to manipulate the wand around the body seamlessly without having it collide or having the string get caught, especially when dancing with it and using other props, but it isn’t anything new or “magical.” He did a good job performing an established illusion.
@Shizuko_Misaki3 жыл бұрын
how did he put the hoop through it? if there was a string? like i saw the string for a split second ( around 2:19) but then the hoop confused me
@bencipherx3 жыл бұрын

@@Shizuko_Misaki that is the magic of Leviwand, yes the audiences are aware of the string but manipulating it in a confusing way is the best way to present Leviwand and Ehrlich did so brilliantly
@LB-ge8ih3 жыл бұрын
@@Shizuko_Misaki It’s called “wooping,” using the wand with a hoop. Again, it’s learning how to manipulate them, takes practice but really just manipulating props. I looked online, his name is Ehrlich Ocampo, he’s a circus performer and he goes by “Firechill.” He even sells online lessons teaching use of the leviwand. His specialty is incorporating dance and acrobatics with the manipulation of props.

@@bencipherx look closely at the left side of the screen exactly at 2:19 (maybe reduce the speed of the video) around his right hand where hes holding the stick, you can see a string or a white line almost
