I'm a fan of Hayden's Chicken Elizabeth Nugget (and Squidward) horse videos, which make me cry and wheeze from laughing so hard. I had NO IDEA about this side of her until just now when I finally decided to go follow her pages on FB and stumbled onto this. Just watching her horse videos was comedy gold. This girl's going places. 🐴💖

As someone who’s deaf/hoh myself, i know what it’s like to always want to make people smile even when there’s communication barriers. it makes feel so seen to see someone like me get the recognition that they deserve.

Yea you’d be surprised. 😢My cousin who is an adult now (in her 50’s) was born deaf and my uncle never really learned anything. For her whole life! One of my cousins is a really fast finger speller so they could have conversations and my aunt (her mom) learned very basic, minimal signs. Another aunt who is not her mom actually learned the most and was trying to teach the rest of the family but sadly, it wasn’t a priority for them. There were 5 kids and my uncle was always gone as a truck driver and my aunt was completely overwhelmed. They relied heavily on the teachers at school to communicate everything and be the translators for them. They lived in a different state from us growing so we never saw them and I’m quite a lot younger than all of them anyway and even as a small child I thought it was wrong that none of them took the time to properly communicate with her. 😢As a result she suffered a lot of abuse as a child at the hands of other adults who were left in charge of taking care of her for large stretches at a time. It’s really sad.

Years ago, I learned that the more profoundly deaf a person was, the harder it was for a person to learn speech, and my college buddy could not figure it out. His family only developed some home signs and wrote to him. It seemed to cause trust issues with the Hearing. I thought his case was the exception, but have read that it is pretty common for parents to not learn ASL. I don't get it. Such a beautiful language, and so important.

@@lYoUrChEeKs ignoring the fact that your sense of humor is sorely lacking, anyone who drops the ‘they only got this because they’re disabled’ bulls#%t, is someone whose opinion isn’t worth a damn thing. I suspect people like you lash out simply because you feel a sense of shame and self loathing, because inside you’re thinking to yourself ‘if I can’t do this, then there’s no way this deaf person could do it without it being handed to her.’ Well, it sucks for you that you’re an unambitious troglodyte, but you clearly wouldn’t know talent if it kicked you in the junk. For all those asking where Howie was, this is from NBC, posted 12 hrs ago: "Howie Mandel is not feeling well today, so he will not be joining us," Crews said. "Since Howie is not here, two 'yeses' will let the Act advance, and three Red Buzzers mean that your Act is over." So, we can breathe a sigh of relief that Mandel's absence is temporary.

@@millardf452 the first 3 words of the title, & @ 1:58 she says she is totally "hard of hearing. There are degrees of hard of hearing just like there are degrees of blindness. Someone can be hard of hearing to the point of being LEGALLY deaf ( she says she is deaf at the beginning of the video ) just like being partially blind can be declared LEGALLY blind. I hope this helps you as sometimes i am hard of understanding, I have high functioning autism most people don't realise I am autistic.

@@millardf452 until you have "walked a mile in her shoes" you shouldn't be so quick to criticise without any experience. One lady I knew that worked with the deaf that I thought was hearing didn't answer me one day (her back was turned) & when I asked why I found out she had significant hearing loss but could read lips.

@@millardf452PS she isn't leaning on a crutch & doesn't need anyone's sympathy. You should just sit back & enjoy the show, that is what she wants.
