Richard and I worked together at the same elementary school for years. He is a genuinely nice person. What you see on stage is exactly who Richard is: kind, friendly, humble, talented!

Exactly! All natural talent. Richard was so nervous in the beginning, and when he sings, the audience sings with him and even at home we can feel the energy. All those years, caring for the school and singing to the kids, you deserve this attention for your wonderful voice and the example you are to us all to never give up on our dreams. All true except deserving it. His singing is mediocre at best and that's what people should be voting for first, his backstory second. But people will give him the win because of his story, not because he's enjoyable to listen to. Sorry, but his talent doesn't stack up compared to others in the show.

The rest of the finalists are being judged on their skill and talent, making them even more deserving because Richard's talent, his singing doesn't measure up to other finalists. But you want him to win because you just love who he is. That's not what the show is about. When you vote it's not because of his talent, it's because of is backstory.

He didnt nail it. lol Stop using your emotions like these judges do. You know AGT & BGT dont chose real talented constestants. He couldnt sing the tune and words clearly. And before anyone gets butthurt, I understand he's not a real singer. Just compare this regular cover to any good singer and you will understand. He's just a karaoke singer and that's good enough. And being there is obviously a big accomplishment to him.

Richard was a janitor in my town! My husband and I helped with our churches youth group, and the kids would talk about "the singing janitor" who had a fabulous voice. He's sing as he'd clean down the halls. So neat to be able to see him on this stage now!!

It’s not just the fact that he’s a Janitor for 23 years up to this point. Not just the fact that he’s a typical guy living a completely normal life, it’s the fact that HE CAN SING THE WAY THAT HE DOES, despite being 55 Years old. To me, that’s the Most IMPRESSIVE part. It shows the Pure Talent in his Voice. This man deserves all the Praise that he gets, and is an inspiration to a lot of people out there.

This is a talent competition. He shouldn't win because he represents something people identify with--a common man pursuing his dream. That's admirable but that's not what's at stake here. All the contestants personalities are a part of their 'act', but in the end it's about talent and skill. Richard is a good singer but nowhere nearly as good as others in this season. His story isn't the talent we're supposed to be voting for.

People don't seem to be voting on his "story," but on his 'Presence' which is imbued with HEART! Evidently people are touched, and are hungry for THAT talent, and are voting for that! Richard is real, he is truly loved. Howie is right, he earned it. Not just from his amazing voice, but from showing us his amazing heart. We can't get enough of this man, he's become our hero. Not only do we love his singing, (in amazment), but the world is loving him. We don't want to let go. We want to know Richard, we want more and more of him. We need a hero like him, were proud of him. We all love different wonderful singers, but we really love everthing about this man. He's one of us. He's giving everything he has to us, we want to give everything to him. He captured our hungry hearts when were searching for real things to embrace in a world full of lies and disception, and Richard musturd the courage to stand up and give us everything he has. He is one of the most memorable acts I've seen on AGT. I wholeheartedly believe he deserves to win. I love it when it's someone that is considered the underdog but just blows everyone away! The only two other acts that are as memorable for me were BGT's Susan Boyle and Paul Potts. GO RICHARD! I can't vote as I live in Greece, but YOU GOT THIS,! ❤️

This man is what A G T should be all about ...a humble ..man with a amazing talent...a hero..for sure ..ANYBODY can program a computer to fly a bunch of drones...my 16 year old grandson does that...with practice anyone can do acrobatics..blindfolded or not ...but it takes a good given talent to sing like Richard does...and to be as humble as he is without the ego that most singers have is what being a winner is all about ...he.s a champion..his life will never be the same ...and if by some chance (which won.t happen) he doesn.t win..he.ll still be a superstar he.ll get a record contract and people will know who he is and will pay to see him preform ...as for the drones and the acrobatic bunch ...if one of them win ...within 6 months no one will remember their names...what they have to offer America right now will have no effect on bring people together God Bless You Richard❤❤❤❤❤❤

And I will add, the dog act can be seen at dog performance events in Freestyle competition. They're good but they're not Richard and so many of us in dog sports have seen those tricks and moves.

It's so refreshing to hear occasional slightly flat notes that aren't tuned with pitch correction for these live performances. They give so much character and realism and it is part of his soul. This dude has a great voice and is fantastic at performance. He's a winner regardless of results, and I've said he's going to win since day 1.
