I was one of the audience members. Whether you believe it or not, Max didn't tell all of us to draw a sun. I will say we were all given several options of what to draw, and he was able to get everyone to pick the sun. I can't give much more away.

jack northfield made us pick a number 10-99. The add the digits together to get a new number. Then subtract the two numbers. Then the answer equaled a symbol. ( about 1/3 of the answers had sun as their symbol ). We did that after Annie’s performance during the commercial, then when he got on stage he told us to draw what we got solving that problem.

Right when he said billboard I was thinking about a billboard in the movie The Road because I just rewatched it. There is a closeup view of it and the billboard takes up the entire shot. That's what was in my mind not a sun.

The tricks are subliminal messages, which I've learned about in Psychology. It's basically passing info below the perception level, so one would get the idea in an *unconscious* way rather than consciously.

I wish I could say it didn't work, but I was completely blown away. I am very skeptical about nearly everything, but even though I didn't have paper with me to draw, I did picture in my mind what I would draw...but I did watch the intro that was part of the illusion. I decided I would draw a smiley face, then I decided I should make it a smiling sun! I was convinced that with choosing something so simple it was sure to be different than what was chosen on tv...I was shocked! I suppose for some, it really works. The only reason I am commenting on this is because I was looking up the video to show it to family that didn't watch the original show to see if it worked on them.
