When you are doing performance art like this, the audience is everything! Simon was 100% on point: she engaged the crowd within seconds and gave them a show they will probably never forget! However: Sophia did have legitimate criticism. How to top this? What you did was peak but in a talent show like this you have to keep one upping yourself with each performance and it didn't seem obvious how she could. But then Simon--being the brilliant person he is--offered her the performers dream: for the whole world to follow along with the act. That and the literal entire audience chanting her name got her to say yes: another testament to this person as a performer. The other girl can go eat dirt. "This is not the audiences performance"? She failed to see the talent in front of her

A lot of people don't realize who hard conductor actually work and what all they have to hear and do and which power they have. A small move with your ands make sounddifference between standing next to the musicboxes or a mile away.

She took a really good song, arranged a 3 part harmony in such a way that people who don’t read music could follow it, and let her stage presence do the rest. She made something that is rather complicated simple enough that everyone could do it. There’s genius in that.

I first got into BTC back in 2020 and I was hodling/buying sats at different price points. but later in 2021 I ended up selling it because I was dumb and I didn't understand it. As a musician, this is it. This is why i believe music is the greatest unifier. On such a deep level music can connect us, make us feel empathy for eachother regardless of language. No matter if we know how a happy song feels, sad song tugs or just when they make us feel free, we all can take that ride together. This is a great example of an aspect of that, which isnt very tangible to describe. Lol I love this

@@jwizzize It makes no difference where it is done, it is physically impossible for random people of all ages, in these numbers, to sing in harmony like in this video. Most of the people in the audience are too young and have not even heard of Africa, let alone know the tune. It makes no difference if you have been to one of her shows here is Australia, you don't know anyone in the audience, you don't know how many people are "plants" nor do you know if any of it is staged, you're just blindly accepting that it is genuine because you want it to be. Again, it is not possible to have random people with no singing talent, unfamiliar with a song, come together and harmonise on this level with minimal prompting.

The MAGNITUDE of talent. Not only did she get everyone to harmonize, but if you notice at 2:10 when she tells them to stand at the chorus, initially, only one side of the audience where she lifted her hands stood up. She got everyone to follow even her guidance without realizing it. So crazy!

@@alexm589 nah, I agree. It takes a magnitude of talent to pull this off and fool a normie into thinking this is easy. This audition is similar to Bobby McFerrin explaining how the pentatonic scale is intuitive across cultures or Jacob Collier getting his audience to also sing in 3 part. But the big step up from those artists is how Astrid turned this intuitiveness into something like "mass-karaoke". This is dope. (Though I don't think Sophia or Heidi were wrong. This is a really cool performance for a different stage.)

I have been to a few of Astrid’s ‘pub choir’ shows in Australia and she does a lot more work than what was shown here. She breaks down all the parts for the crowd, has funny slideshows with the lyrics and memes to help people follow along and in a full show, the room would go through the song and practice for a good 90 minutes before putting it together at the end. She also composes different arrangements and adds her own flair to every song. It’s an awesome experience to be a part of!!

This could be the beginning of something far greater-a spark that brings nations and people together. A glimpse of the new Jerusalem we’ve all been waiting for. In a world weighed down by pain, suffering, and division, there are moments-rare and beautiful-when we forget the chaos, if only for a while. This was one of those moments. You could feel it in the audience, in the shared joy and wonder. Now imagine that feeling on a global scale. Countries not just competing, but celebrating each other through something like The World’s Got Talent. Yes, it might sound far-fetched, but the dream is powerful: where the winner isn’t just an individual, but an entire nation lifted in spirit. Maybe-just maybe-through creativity, expression, and shared humanity, the hatred, depression, anger, and racism that plague us could begin to fade. Art has always been a universal language. Perhaps now it can be our bridge to something better.

She just left an entire audience with a memory they will never forget. That's astounding and I can't believe some of the judges didn't recognize just what she actually did there. And best of all, watch the audience's reaction when she got the final Yes . . . How happy they were. Stop and think about the impact that young lady had on that huge crowd of people in such a small amount of time. And think about how positive and happy that reaction was. No, it isn't the difference. I'm a performer, not a director. However, I think her skill is not only chronically under-appreciated, but also incredibly important, especially for where we are as a society. We need connection and ties to our humanity, especially as technology pulls us farther apart. Mel B and Sofia are not indicative of "performers". They are indicative of people who have lost sight of their roots and lost appreciation for what is important and unsung. Do not place all performers in that category.

Can’t believe she didn’t get 4 straight yes’. One of the most unique acts I can remember, uniting a huge audience - even if just for a few minutes - in that short amount of time is impressive and a memorable experience. Really enjoyable act to watch.

This woman understands the _point_ of music. It's called the "universal language" for a reason. Music conveys even what we don't understand. But what we know in our bones. It is literally our soul. When I want to tell my wife how much I love her, or just anything that is really important to me, it's through a song. Jim Croce wrote something about that. My nephew has extreme autism, to the point where he's incapable of conversation. But he gets it in musical form. If they do an AGT "best ever," it would be a crime against humanity, and I mean a crime against what it even _means_ to be human, if she's not at the top of that list.

This is what real talent looks like! Something different from the rest, something emotional, a performance that truly touched the audience and made them feel a part of it! How could the judges disagree? This was such a unique performance!

I'm with Simon when he said she is smart. This is true, no one ever done or made a group of people sing in less than a minute. It takes a lot prcatice to sing together but she made it look so easy and that's clever and that real talent.

Yeah but worthy enough of winning against a lot of other acts that have auditioned? Hell nah.

It really does encapsulate what the audience is looking for. Each person there wishes they could have the courage and the passion to get up on the biggest stage and try .....well now they did just that and they didnt have to do it alone. The audience won this one, and that is enough to call this a talent.
