You go to the good like gig and you could hear a pin drop at the end of a song like that, the crowd is so taken back. It's like everyone forgets where they are for a moment, before coming back to life.

oh my goodness this one just killed me on so many levels in 2006 I lost my daughter to cancer she was only 32 years old. I was there when she took her first breath and I was there when she took her last. And I remember thinking please don't go

That was so beautiful and touching. My daughter lost her first two children with horrible complications. Her second child lived a week and she held him for the last hours of his tiny life. I'm going to send this to her. I know she will love it. Good luck to you and I'm sorry for your loss.

I've played this song 20 + times.. I think of my momma holding her hand when she passed.... You have such an amazing voice and song writing talent Stephanie. So sorry for the loss of your nephew. Your song brought me to tears. I lost my 31 year old son unexpectedly in 2020. The pain and heartache of losing a child never goes away and memories just hit you sometimes out of nowhere. When you lose a child, you lose a part of yourself.

@beckymarnell7644 Hi Becky...yes, it really is.. and there's so many lines in this song , that I could " pull out " and tell you, that this one in particular, hits me the hardest.. and the one I can't get out of my head , is this. ( paraphrasing, ofc..bc idk the exact lines , of how it goes )..." I lay you close down on my chest...cause I know how , to hold you best " ... man , when she sang that line , I totally lost it. Now, here's the kicker...I don't really know the why... I think maybe because up to that point, I had kinda somehow forgotten ( a little bit, anyway ) , that it was written about a baby... a ( toddler?? ) small child...and when it hit me remembering that , it was more than my heart could take. When I think about it's little life , not even started good , and never getting a chance to, that's what got me..I'm sry to bother you with the " reasons " and all that Becky...it's obviously a powerful song.. the number of comments alone, attest to that...and before I go, t want to tell you that I'm sry for ur loss Becky..I know that pain, of losing a parent..I've lost both of mine..I'm sure you two were very close 😢. It seems the closer you are, the deeper the pain.. may the Good Lord lay his healing hands, upon ur mournful heart Becky , take away ur pain and sorrow, and replace it with joy and happiness...the unrest and emptiness, with peace and a heart full of love. Take that love Becky and add some understanding to it , then take it and spread it around with ur family and friends. I'm more than sure, ur remainly family could use some themselves. And don't ever be afraid to call on friends but ESPECIALLY FAMILY for help and support. On those days or times, when for whatever the reason, the day is extra hard...I lost both of mine over 25 years ago, and while it does get somewhat easier, it never goes away. But you wanna know something, that probably sounds silly ?? Tbh , I never want it to. I know by saying that, that it doesn't make any sense. But I'm afraid that if it gets REALLY EASY , I'll forget the important parts...or that I'll forget, period. And that's the last thing I want to do. It's a talent competition, not a pull-at-the-heart-strings competiton. These shows suck because of this, highlighting people's plights rather than their sheer talent. Her song was moving, but in no way was she a golden buzzer singer.

I loved how simon supported her and that real moment where they talked about the industry. Everyone has a story. And death is a part of all of our lives. I agree with simon on this one... I think this is best song that I've heard so far this yr as well!

Wow that was something, @22 seconds in I got a tightness in my chest and felt a whelm of emotions wash over me and when she started singing, it was like the song gave me permission to let go and unburden myself. And by the end of this beautiful song my face was a flood plane of my own held back tears. I am grateful for this gift of release. Sorry for your loss.. it’s been a year since my best friend 23 yrs old was shot off his bike in AZ & murdered.. I’m glad they caught the lady who shot him.. but they’re tryna give her 7-15yrs 🤦🏻‍♂️ after taking his life that he was just getting started.. justice system is broke if I did it as a male I’d get life probably

Stephanie, you make me cry every time I listen to this. I lost my beautiful mom Marion in 2020. She died in her bed after a long battle. I was the only one with her and I sang her a lullaby and when I finished, she just quietly took her last breath. So many of us have lost someone dear to us and your song just speaks to our hearts. Your second A.G.T. performance with the Woman song is like my anthem and also reminds me so much of strong, brave Marion. I just listened to this last night and the next morning, my dog passed silently through the night after 14 and a half years as my best companion. Had to come back to listen again to help get through losing him.

So so many people don’t understand the ties between a person and his/her pet. I’ve always had a cat, and my sister jokes with me that I have made them all dogs. I think if you spend enough time with a cat when you first get them, they will be unbelievable companions. My cat absolutely got me through the pandemic. My husband had to work, so I was alone a lot. He liked me to cradle him in my arms like a baby, so we pretty much went around the house like that. He was so gentle and so smart. He knew when we went into the backyard that there was an invisible line that he couldn’t cross, so I never had to worry about him and loved to watch him play. I was fortunate that he lived until he was 19, but it is Gutwrenching having to say goodbye.
