Did you notice he had the audience in a trance. When he stopped singing there was complete silence. It took the audience a few seconds to finally react. Love his style.

I always noticed that you can hear a pin drop when something or someone is so mind-blowing wonderful!!! For two heartbeats,maybe three, then total oneness from so many people is another amazing element to this! All those people putting out the same vibration it's got to be body and mind blowing to be there because just watching it on TV or your phone you feel a smidgen of what is flowing in that room!!!❤

@@Stoppabell I was trying to put my "ear" on who he reminded me of. Usually I can tell straight away. Even though he definitely sounds like Michael Bolton, I don't think it's on purpose. He also has his own sound within it. Michael has raw emotion, but so does this guy and in this guy's emotion, it's fresh.

I don’t think people really understand how hard it is to deliver a lyric to an audience when it’s just you and a mic on a stand. No lights, no band, no extra just you the song and make it make sense to the audience. This guy is incredible!

Agreed 100% Its great and all when people enjoy singing and even want to make a career in music- but artists like this guy.... you can see the soul and emotion he puts in his singing and the song itself, It has a genuine, authentic, and honest thing about it. Many (not all) artists nowadays get to the point of making music as a job, and even what might get the most views or follows. But are they staying true to themselves or are they molding themselves to who society wants them to be. This guy is a true diamond in the rough - Wishing him luck to grow in that

Don't exaggerate. Truth is, he has been making music his entire life which includes singing in front of people /audiences very often. And if you're a good and really talented singer you'll have your best moments with minimized equipment or even a capella.

I think the golden buzzer is supposed to be more for underrated acts, people with unusual or underappreciated talents etc. This guy is talented in a very classical way, he knows he's talented and he already has an established band. Had he chosen to stay on the show he wouldn't have had any issues getting far on his own, he didn't need the golden buzzer.

The only thing I can think of is that the judges were in shock, just like the audience, and the rest of us who thought he has such an incredible talent! I mean, I thought talent was what they were looking for. It is called America’s got talent, but they give the golden buzzer to eight-year-olds who just learned how to sing yesterday! Not trying to take away from any children singing I’m just pointing out the obvious, and I’m blunt about things Hands-down he was the best performer I’ve ever seen other than Kristen Cruz I think they both deserved golden buzzers, and neither one of them got it😭

@@jortepapit would change your mind if you went to their KZbin page - Nicotine Dolls and listen to both their originals and their mashups. It’s not forced, it’s his style. His range is impressive and his voice emotes such passion. They have actually been a band for just over three years. He didn’t continue on AGT bc the producers wanted to change their sound. Sam said no, Nicotine Dolls is solid and won’t change who we are. Look at them now! Touring and their job is making music.

great voice yes but, i wouldnt say unique. i think the problem he may face is how similar his voice is to Michael Bolton, almost to the point of an impression. He is good. Just an observation

It's all edited for effect haha. I went to a taping for one of these shows and they literally film a bunch of applause shots separately. They got us to run through increasing levels of applause - mild, moderate, heavy, cheering, standing ovations etc, and filmed them all so they could cut them in. I'm sure some of it is organic, but yeah - the silence then swelling of applause is definitely manufactured. But all that aside, his voice isn't manufactured at all and it's PERFECT.

I’ve watched this 100’s of times and still get emotional each and every time I do! Thank you AGT for bringing Sam and the Nicotine Dolls into our lives. Shame you wanted him to split with his band and go solo. His integrity and loyalty pretty much says it all! I can’t remember the last time music touched me the way Nicotine Dolls have!

I was so captured by the sound of his voice that I just noticed he was singing an original song. Big kudos to this man. Simon is right - there's something very honest and open about his singing. Nothing wrong with painting or cleaning houses, but when you've been given a gift like he has, it's a crime not to use it to the fullest.

It’s quite unusual…his voice sounds as if he’s really straining it but then at the same time he hits every note, has quite a range, control and flow…super unique. It takes a moment until you realize that that’s how his voice sounds…he’s not doing anything. Very special indeed. Well, plus he seems super nice and funny. I hope he’ll have the kind of career he’s hoping for and more.

The control it takes to go from that fry to the forward placement and open the vowel and brighten it all up to squeaky clean and not lose a smidge of pitch is really special. The integrity of this guys vocal and tone is ridiculous.
