I went to high school with this guy. He is a life long friend of mine. He is one of the hardest working people I know. Congrats to him and his mother Judy for an amazing proformance. He is truly a 1 of 1. Im so proud of you Cole.

It took this performance to such a magic place. What mom doesn’t want to give their kid the world and she got to watch him achieve something people only dream of doing. I just viewed a video of Cole explaining his wardrobe choice after he received some negative comments . . .His grandfather had just died and wasn’t able to see his audition . . . SO - He wore his grandfather’s clothes to honor him. I love him even more . . .

I was walking in my town one day and passed a young man playing guitar and singing in front of a theater. I might not have stopped except his voice was singularly beautiful as was his guitar work. I stopped and we spoke at length. He became my friend and even helped me to produce my own music. His lovely mother even played cello on one of my songs. He has been instrumental in helping me realize my dreams. That my friends is Cole Swensen the man you just heard. He’s a rare talent and every bit as genuine as the lovely man you just witnessed. Follow him, he’s going places. I’m so proud of you Cole. Thank you AGT for giving Cole a chance. I’m sure there is more to come. I can’t wait to see what’s next. ❤

The silver lining, as a viewer, to him not getting a golden buzzer, means we don't have to wait for the live shows to see him perform again, although very deserving of a golden buzzer. Great voice. And a great way for him to honor his mother who gave up a music career to raise him. Excellent.

This deserved a golden buzzer based on talent alone. Not some sob story about hardships. But I agree with thr silver lining you mentioned. So often golden buzzers, are given to people who have mid talent but have endured extreme hardship. It bothers me because this is a talent show. But I do also understand the opportunity is gives to people who might "need" it more than the extremely talented contestants who should have gotten a buzzer based on talent alone and not their story. I LOVE Nite Bird, but in terms of singing talent - she had a pretty tone, but based on vocals alone - I wouldn't have given her a buzzer without the back story. One exception was Cody Lee. His disability deff came into play in Gabrielles decision - but he genuinely deserved to get that buzzer.

One of my favorite auditions on this show in years. It felt truly genuine and real, and the love on stage was so incredibly heart warming, to say nothing of the incredible talent and voice Cole possesses. I actually loved this rendition even more than the original.
