He is the janitor at my twins school, West Vigo. They were screaming and crying tears of happiness for Mr. Richard last night with their friends, I was right there with them, as was the entire Vigo County community! We are SO excited for him! It couldn’t happen for a more humble and kind man, he is so deserving of this. Can’t wait for America to see what we Hautian peeps have had the pleasure of seeing for two decades. Hello ~ 🦋 I was a student in a school where Mr. Richard worked as a janitor. I can tell you that all the kids looked up to him. He inspired us to find our own talents & work hard. Mr. Richard is such a sweet, shy & humble man. And a great singer deserving of this opportunity on AGT! Everyone hearing him sing on AGT has been given hope that their dreams can come true if they, too, "don't stop believing & hold on to the feeling". THANK YOU so Much, Mr. Richard! 💙 And much gratitude to the songwriters - Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon & Steve Perry who inspired so many with their words! A special THANK YOU to Steve Perry for a song that will live forever in so many hearts! 💙

I watch several Got Talent clips, mostly America and Britain though. One thing I do notice is on BGT the judges hit the golden buzzer in the moment of emotion, like after the song when everyone is cheering, and on AGT the judges hit the golden buzzer while giving their summary of the performance, thus taking part in the emotional moment instead of giving the emotional moment to the performer.

Richard Goodall stole America's hearts last night on "America's Got Talent." I had the chance to have breakfast with Richard at the hotel on the morning I was on my way out after my previous night's taping, and he had just come in for his. The simple, genuine, and unassuming man I had the opportunity to get to know was just humbled to be there and had no lofty expectations. This weary nation needs a hero-it needs a dear soul like Richard Goodall, and he has stepped up to the plate and given it one. So many people feel as if they are without hope these days. Richard Goodall, a janitor from Indiana, just gave it to millions of them.

My Dad was the Custodian at a middle high school for 2 decades back in the 70s/80s. When he had a heart attack, several kids went to the hospital and said they were his kids in order to see him. They made a card that was 3 ft tall by 2 ft wide, and most of the school signed it with well wishes. I had the best Dad ever and I was so proud of him. He got better and went on to live another 30 years before passing. The kids at his school had a huge welcome back party for him, and they even all cleaned up afterwards. He was very popular in our city as he also did tons of charity work. I never felt shame of his job. Besides, here in Canada, he was making good money at that time since he was in a Union. 😊

The more I thought about his courage to get on a plane, it wasn't just that, it was to get on a plane to go to a national international TV show and stand up before a crowd of what 3,000 people and judges and all the sound and noise and everything in a television production you are not used to? I can certainly understand his nerves but aside from that he gave an incredible performance. I just hope that he takes his experience as far as he wishes it to and I hope he enjoys the experience. But more so I hope that people don't take advantage of him. He's in a very elite group of people that include Paul Potts and Susan Boyle and maybe one or two other people that came from nothing to be on that show and their whole life changed from all the attention and the accolades. I really hope he does well and enjoys his time in California and on the show. There are thousands of people rooting for him. Well done, Richard!!

America NEEDS Mr. Richard. A supposed nobody. Someone most people would walk by and pay no attention to. Someone many likely look down upon and give no respect. A man with a simple dream and no expectation - just blew us all away!!! The best golden buzzer in AGTs history. Thank you Richard for dreaming and for daring to follow that dream! During these times of nonstop arguing and fighting over every damn thing, you give us something to celebrate. Bless you and best wishes Richard! But most of all, thank you. Thank you for bringing such joy to millions of us watching.

I been watching this on and off, helping it reach its 34m views is baddd to the bone. I love his voice when he lets it all out and show who he really is inside👍👍 very old fashioned❤ I see a glimpse of that gem hidden inside shine and light up the room every time I hear him sing. Am I wrong? Crowd seems to agree he's one of a kind.❤

If you told me this was Steve Perry and I was blindfolded, I would believe you. I’ve never been this blown out of my seat since Nightbirde’s audition 3 years ago. Richard deserves this shot. He didn’t stop Believin’ and now everyone is going to be on his side. Out of this stratosphere, Richard ⭐️

To all the comments saying they thought it sounded like Steve, you’re wrong, no one sounds just like Steve. Steve is 75 and can still hit some high notes. This guy was very good , I love how humble and kind he is, Steve Perry is also very humble and kind, you can hear it in any interview throughout his life. I hope he comes back with another Steve Perry / Journey song.

It was definitely the first note, and a lot of times for me that's how it is with certain singers. It's actually very rare to start that way and them also to keep it up. There was hardly any moments that he swayed. He lacked a tad a few but overall he kept that momentum going and you could tell it was the crowds reaction that helped him feel confident to keep going strong. He's one of the strongest feeds off the crowd I've ever seen.
