Imagine it… You vs Shin… Just when you think you’ve “got” him beaten, he runs his hand through his hair or does a quick sweep of the cards with his hands & he’ll leave you literally “choking in his dust” as he takes your money 💰 😱💰

I don't many would recognize that this performance was even harder than usual because he had to sync its performance with the song. It is really difficult as not only he had to make his sleight of hand perfectly but it has also need to sync with the song too. That makes him in my eye one of the best magicians in history.

I love how you phrased it slide of hand because it works so well. I had to make sure that sleight of hand was the correct phrase because as far as I knew I may have been saying it wrong this whole time. Now they are both equally true.

For proof here:Commonly Confused Words slight/sleight Slight and sleight sound the same, but things that are slight are little and light, and sleight means slyness or sneakiness. Slight is usually an adjective that describes things that are small, flimsy, or insignificant, like a slight drop in the temperature. If a book critic refers to a novel as slight, she could mean either that it’s short or that it’s trivial in its concerns. As a noun, slight means “a snub or insult,” and you can also use this word as a verb when someone does the snubbing or insulting. Sleight, on the other hand, means being crafty and clever, often by being quick-handed. It’s most commonly used in the phrase “sleight of hand.”

I am going to agree with just about everyone and say that Shin Lim is simply the best slight of hand magician I have ever seen. But it is so much more than just what type of magic he does. It is also his presentation. Every thing he does is so well orchestrated. He always knows what he is doing. He makes it all look so simple which of course it is not. I really enjoy watching him.

Presentation is by far the most important part of any performance. I could buy the newest large illusions and perform them flawlessly and still not impress the audience. I lack presentation. Shen Lim has it. He is rich and famous. I am not.

Who would you consider a contemporary master of sleight of hand? Mario Lopez? Because he also respects the heck out of Shin. This is mastery plane and simple. His moves are pristine and polished and even if you catch one, by the time you realize you've missed 3 more.

@@Auric-BraiNerd don’t drag turner into this this he is card mechanic not a magician, he only performs with regular deck without any gimmicks or gaffs. I consider Bill Malone, Lenard Green, Darvin Ortiz, Danny DaOrtiz, Ed Marlo, Jason Ladanye, etc… just to name a few list keeps going. Just watch original shape of my heart performed by Shawn Farguhar that he invented more than 20 years ago maybe it’s not as flashy but done without a table with a regular deck to a full song instead or just half.

I'm out of the loop and didn't watch this show live, how exactly is this inspired by Shawn? Did Shawn perform this or a similar trick before or something? Or is Shawn participating on AGT? I know he is a one of the best sleight of hand magicians, but I could not understand how is this a tribute.

@@HenriqueCavalcanti oh, no problem! This is Shawn's trick :D The trick is about telling a story with the cards through the song "Shape of my heart". He's been on Fool Us but he's recognized around the magician community since waaaay before that. Shin has said in the past that he does his tricks around the music - this is also how Shawn performed his trick and its just inspiring to see the new generation performing it this way (new moves, new effects, same performance result since the cards need to match the lyrics of the song at specific times)

Shin Lim is arguably one of the greatest of all time. David Copperfield, Eric Chien, David Blaine, Dynamo all are incredible magicians, but Shin Lim makes the impossible look possible.

And as you throw shade, he is a millionaire performing in Vegas. For the record, he is a magician just as much as anyone else. He just chooses card magic as his thing. He can take a deck of cards and make what he does look like real magic, but the thing all these magicians have in common is their likability and showmanship. You are just another hater turning somebody's positive comment into a negative. It's a sad world we live in now. May I ask why you felt the need to bash my opinion first, instead of just leaving your own comment about how you felt about his performance? A gaffed deck in the right hands can be just as amazing as any other magic prop. You think Copperfield doesn't use props? Believe me, he does... So does Blain. ALL magicians do. I've seen a magician mesmerize a crowd with just a thumb tip. Linking rings use a gaffed ring, coin magicians use gaffed coins. Don't be a hater man. Just enjoy the magic. All they are trying to do is entertain.

@@timdoyon1964 I know what magicians do and use trust me. I have also seen his lectur . I’ve seen more than you in my life. I know Shawn who invented the original version of shape of my heart and he performs it for 20 years now if not more and with just regular deck. So if anyone asks him to perform it he’ll just have to turn a song and can do it standing up without no table and a regular deck. If you so smart show me your magic before talking like that. And thats just my own opinion. Penn Jillete is an amazing performer is a millionaire too but his sleight of hand sucks he’s a juggler but talks well if it wasn’t for teller he wouldn’t be so famous. So yeah show me what you got and I’ll show you what I can do before you talk! PS - this was also sloppy and only half of the song not like Shawn’s.

The difference between Shin and these other grand illusionists is that Shin has actual skills. No grand equipment, no sleasy assistants needed, just a man with incredible skills and imagination. With his stage presence and capabilities, he will be remembered as one of the all time greatests. Absolutely gorgeous routine.
