Imipressive. Doing comedy in your own language is tough; in a foreign language, it's a huge challenge. She nailed it.

English is my second language. Actually it's very easy because most of the jokes i tell people, they laugh easily because they've never heard it before. Most of the jokes that natural born americans tell are recycled over and over so it's very boring and hard for people to laugh.

As a teenager I learned several foreign languages. One of the hardest things to really understand are jokes. I remember the first one I ever actually got in Spanish, and I was so thrilled with myself! I’m old now, and because I absolutely look like the Caucasian I obviously am, people are sometimes astounded when I start laughing at a joke they will say in a different language. When you judge a book by its cover, the joke is on you. I am so happy for this young woman!

As a fellow Japanese I’m rooting for her all the way!! So proud of her!! In Japan we don’t do stand-up comedy by a single comedian (we have duos / traditional single-comedian comedy where the comedian is sitting down / group skits etc but single-comedian stand-up comedy is EXTREMELY rare) so it’s so nice to see her throwing herself into this field, it must have taken a lot of practice, adjustment and experience to come to a stage like this. @@rachelwalsh6116 when doing stand up comedy, it's very important to make sure that the audience understand the jokes. The fact that she's from Japan, people doubted her, they thought she wouldn't do well at stand up comedy speaking a foreign language but she believed in herself, told the jokes which the judges and audience loved so that's why she's an inspiration. There are many people who aren't brave enough to do it but she did it and that would inspire others to chase their dreams. She is "spot on" and very funny. However, her regular act is very blue (do people still say that? Her set uses very rough language & is very sexual.) Which is part of what makes her act kind of unexpectedly fun & inspirational. A white or black comedian using overtly sexual graphic language is kinda normal and unsurprising. But, coming from Aiko, it is kinda shocking, and subverts a lot of conventional "rules." A really good comedian is not only funny, but helps people see things in a new way. Aiko, I believe, does that.

I thought she was hilarious before AGT. I’m glad she killed it on National TV. Hope to see bigger and better things for Aiko. I’d hang out with her.

I love the way she played on American stereotypes! The whole "I felt entitled" "I dont want immigrants to work either" was all really clever! Her outfit and personality just lit up the room! I hope she continues stand up, she's really funny!

She's hilarious and I love her because she did not vie away from tackling issues of reality. I have this feeling that she was keeping it edgy and enjoying the risk as well!🤝❤️👑🥂

I totally agree. I think a sharp mind lurks behind that sweet facade! Its a rare quality that few possess, that balance of sharp wittedness and playfulness is hard to get right.

I'm the only one who notices that anyone from the jury is not american by birth? Howie - Canadian, Heidi - German, Sofia - Colombian, Simon - British ... So this act was amazing because they all felt the comedy.

What a great act. I know this is weird and but she reminds me of old school stand-up comedians in the way that they both possess this disarming charm with just a hint of rascal... A sharp, clever comic with things to say and a personality to deliver them without insulting a single person in the room. I am definitely watching out for this one...
