From my understanding, the Funkateers were actually a popular local dance group back in the day and two of the former members passed away pretty recently so I think they were just kinda like "life is too short". Give them that golden buzzer....idk if I even have footwork like that and I'm half their age 🤣

😂 My momma, my Aunt Deborah, and their bestie (a guy name Tim) had a group called "The Boneshakers" throughout the 80s. They'd win shows at clubs around San Antonio. My aunt had her hair short, maroon, and feathered to a point in the front of her forehead. So did my mom. They were gorgeous. I was very young and had no idea what the style was called. I thought it was breakdancing

Hey folks you should have seen them when they were very young on The Scene!! It was a dance show in Detroit Michigan back during the early 1970's with host Nat Morris. I used to watch the Funketeers on the show all the time!! One of them passed away maybe 2 years ago I read.. but I'm happy to see them still performing in 2025 and especially on a show such as this show... unbelievable 🎉 look at the old footage of them on the Scene Dance Show.

The gentlemen arrived at the AGT stage with this great performance at a great time. It is very entertaining to see and listen to the feeling and dynamics of Soul Funk Jazz Disco of the seventies and eighties today in 2025. This could be a big comeback not only for the performers but also for the style. It was cool!! I wish the performers a stage suitable for this production, which of course reflects the charm of the seventies and eighties. Super timing, great performance!! Now let's come to the stage SHOW that suits the gentlemen!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
